RYA Courses 2024
If you would like to gain your first RYA certificates whilst on your holiday we work with MT Sail and Power in the Balearics. This is often welcomed by families with youngsters (over 12) as an encouragement to get involved in the sailing activities and get teens off their screens!
RYA Start Yachting
RYA ‘Start Yachting’ is a two-day introductory course where you can test your sea legs.
You don’t have to sleep onboard so you can retire to your villa or hotel at the end of each day.

You will enjoy a Mediterranean style lunch onboard whilst on anchor in a delightful cove, and then spend the afternoons sailing.
​
You’ll do a little bit of everything, from rope work to helming and from hoisting sails to changing tack; it’s a great taster of what could potentially become the love of your life!
RYA Competent Crew
RYA ‘Competent Crew’ sailing course is a real ‘hands-on’ practical five day sailing course.
Jo your RYA instructor will encourage you in all aspects of life onboard, from safety to sailing, helming to man overboard drills.
You will learn the ropes, explore the island, enjoy the wind in your hair and finish the week exhilarated, exhausted and booking your next trip!
​By the end of the course you should be able to steer, handle sails, keep a lookout, row a dinghy and assist in all the day to day duties on board. You should also have visited some interesting places and had an enjoyable holiday.
RYA Day Skipper refresher

Although it's amazing how much knowledge and practical skill you accumulate on a course, it can still leave you feeling overwhelmed about skippering your own boat.
Many people learn as youngsters but then life gets in the way and before they know it 20 years have passed so this is a great way to get back in the saddle whilst enjoying a fun holiday.

The objective of this course is to refresh your skills, and add a few new ones like anchoring and flying a kite, so you jump off feeling a lot more confident to skipper a charter boat and take your friends or family on holiday knowing you
